BRASILIA, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Head coach of Brazil's national team Dunga announced on Monday that midfielder/striker Ronaldinho will play against Wales in a friendly match on Tuesday at the Tottenham Hotspurs stadium in London.

Due to a low back pain, the player could not participate in the match against archrival Argentina on Sunday at Arsenal's stadium, also in London.

The Brazilian team won 3-O, which was regarded by the local press as the return of the national team's excellence, following the frustrating elimination in the quarter-finals of World Cup 2006 in Germany.

It was Brazil's first victory under the command of former midfielder Dunga, who also coached the team when it tied Norway 1-1 in August.

Ronaldinho was frustrated for not being able to play the match against Argentina.

"I am glad to announce that now he is in shape and will play. The Brazilian team came to London to play great football," said Dunga.

The friendly match against Wales will be the first time that Ronaldinho plays for Brazils team since the World Cup, during which the Barcelona midfielder did not score.

"There was a huge expectation, but I will prove that I am still important for the team," said Ronaldinho.

Dunga indicated he may decide to give a chance to play for the national team to others who were second-choice players in the match against Argentina. Enditem
