                     Israel, Lebanon agree on ceasefire

    JAKARTA, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government said Saturday it has secured approval form the United Nations to participate in the international peacekeeping mission in Lebanon and would deploy the troops late this month.

    Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda said UN officials had made contacts with the Indonesian Military headquarters to discuss technical matters of the deployment.

    "The Indonesian troops will depart at the end of this month, atthe latest," he was quoted by the national Antara news agency as saying during a visit to Bali island.

    Indonesia has readied 1,000 troops from the army and the marine for the mission. Enditem
