Special report: Israel, Lebanon agree on
ceasefire
STOCKHOLM, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- UN Relief Work
Coordinator, Norway's Jan Egeland, has strongly criticized Israel's use of
cluster bombs in Lebanon, according to reports reaching here from Oslo on
Thursday.
UN experts have so far found 100,000 undetonated

reported.
Egeland accused Israel of having dropped many of the
cluster bombs in the last hours before the ceasefire became effective.
"Ninety percent of the cluster bombs were dropped
over Lebanon during the last hours of the conflict, when we knew there would be
a solution," Egeland said to NRK.
"The bombs have affected large areas of agriculture
land and private homes," according to Egeland.
On Wednesday, NRK reported that the cluster bombs
with which the Norwegian defense forces are equipped, are among the 12 worst in
the world.
Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said that the
