Fake bomb found near Thaksin's house

    BANGKOK, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- A bag made to look like bomb was found on Monday at the back of a bank near the house of caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra in Bangkok, according to the webedition of local newspaper the Nation.

    The bag was spotted near the wall of the Siam Commercial Bank by a maid of the bank at 6:30 a.m. local time (2330 GMT, Sunday).

    The maid looked inside and found black plastic box attached with a clock and wires were linked the clock into the box.

    The maid alerted police who placed seven tires over the box andcalled in bomb disposal officials to check it.

    Bomb disposal officials took about 30 minutes to check it and found that it was a fake bomb. There was no explosive inside, except an old battery tied with wires.

    Officials also found a paper with abusive words against Thaksinwritten in handwriting. Enditem
