MADRID, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian striker Ronaldo wants to stay at Real
Madrid, the AS sports daily reported Saturday.
AS said that Ronaldo telephoned Ramon Calderon, president of the Spanish
league runners-up, to say he hadn't negotiated with anyone to leave.
Ronaldo said if he stayed in Real to play, he felt capable of scoring 30
goals this season.
Ronaldo, 29, is currently in Brazil recovering from an operation. He scored 29
goals for Real in the 2002-2003 season but only found the net on 14 times last
season.
The three-time world player of the year saw a move to AC Milan fall through
on Friday after the two clubs failed to agree on a fee. Enditem
