Special report: Tensions accelerate in Iraq
BAGHDAD, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Unknown Iraqi gunmen shot dead four people and wounded 11 others from one family in an attack on their house northeast of Baghdad on Saturday, police said.
"Unidentified armed men stormed the house of a family in the Tahrir neighborhood in southern Baquba and opened fire, leaving four persons dead and eleven others wounded," a source from the media office of Baquba police told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The motive of the attack was not clear, the source said.
Baquba, some 65 km northeast of Baghdad, is the provincial capital of Iraq's Diyala province within Iraq's so-called Sunni Triangle, a bastion of sectarian violence and insurgency against the U.S.-led occupation. Enditem
