MADRID, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid president
Ramon Calderon told media on Wednesday that the Spanish soccer club has began
speaking to Italian AC Milan about selling Brazilian star Ronaldo Nazario.
Spanish media said that Madrid wants to sell the
player for 25 million euros (57.7 million U.S. dollars) and that Calderon will
meet Milan officials -- Adrian Galliani, the vice president, and head of sport,
Ariedo Bradia -- in Madrid's Bernabeu stadium on Wednesday.
Real are aiming to get a preferential option to buy
Milan's Brazilian midfielder Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, known as Kaka,
included in the deal.
"I don't think it will all be sorted out tonight,"
Calderon told television station Cuatro.
Club sources said they would not make an official
announcement on Ronaldo's future until Thursday.
Inter Milan, AC Milan's cross-town rivals, sold
Ronaldo to Madrid four seasons ago. He has been the squad's top scorer in each
season, and has scored a total of 100 goals for the Spanish team.
Real's recently signed Italian coach Fabio Capello is
restructuring the top Spanish team's squad, signing Dutch striker Ruud van
Nistelrooy from Manchester United.
Milan received an injection of cash following the
sale of Andriy Shevchenko to Chelsea for an estimated 45 million euros. Enditem
