BEIRUT, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora Wednesday called on Arab nations, friendly countries and the Lebanese people to contribute more to help the country's reconstruction work.

"I appeal to all Lebanese people, Arab nations and friendly countries to take part in the reconstruction process, because there are too many problems in this process, which can not be settled with one measure for good," Siniora said at a press conference.

He said that the reconstruction work was not an easy work, so more help from friendly countries were needed.

When answered questions from Xinhua about the reconstruction work on civilian houses, Siniora said that "we have sent people to examine the loss and repair the damages of civilians' houses and shops immediately."

But he stressed that although the government has established a mechanism for reconstruction, the help of foreign countries and individuals were still urgently needed.

As for the function of Hezbollah in the reconstruction, the prime minister told Xinhua that his government would discussed the reconstruction with the parliament members from Hezbollah.

"There are many parliament members from Hezbollah, we will make discussion with them," he added. Enditem
