JERUSALEM, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Police searched the residence of Israeli President Moshe Katsav in Jerusalem and seized computers and documents in the raid, Israel Radio reported on Tuesday.

Investigators of the National Department for International Investigations searched Katsav's resident on Monday night and took documents and computers from the place as part of an investigation into sexual harassment accusations against the president, the report said.

Police said last week that Katsav would be questioned in the coming days as a former female employee claimed that the Israeli president coerced her into engaging in sexual relations with him. Investigators have not determined the specific charges to be brought against Katsav based on the woman's accusations.

If the accuser's claims that she was powerless in turning down Katsav's advances are deemed credible, Katsav might face rape charges.

About two months ago, Katsav told Attorney General Menachem Mazuz in a letter that he believed the woman had tried to extort him by threatening to accuse him of sexual harassment. Enditem
