    The Iranian-made Saegheh (thunderbolt) missile, which has a range of 80-250 km, was test-fired on Sunday, one day after the army launched a series of large-scale military maneuvers, the report said.

Iran launches large-scale military exercise   2006-08-19 17:29:40

    TEHRAN, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian army launched a large-scale military exercise on Saturday, the official IRNA news agency reported.

    The first stage of the military exercise started in the northeastern, northwestern, western and southern parts of Iran, according to the report.

    Assault and transport helicopters, parachutists, electronic war units and special forces will take part in the initial maneuver, said the report.
