KATHMANDU, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Top leader of Nepali guerrilla Prachanda has said that there wouldn't be any space for the "ceremonial king" in democratic Nepal, a local website reported on Sunday.
According to the himalayan.com report, speaking at a press conference in Jhapa district in eastern Nepal, Prachanda also accused Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala of trying to create differences by advocating the space for ceremonial king.
Prachanda said that new Nepal will avoid the monarchy in any form, adding that the five-point understanding between the government and the guerrilla helped strengthen the intra-forces understanding.
"The letter of understanding which was handed over to the United Nations (UN) developed trust among the parties," he said.
Prachanda also hinted out that his party will join the interim government only after the House of Representatives was dissolved and blamed the Seven-Party Alliance for delaying the finalization of interim constitution.
Prachanda claimed that his party was fully abiding by the understanding and truce code.
He further said that the management of arms and armies will be conducted under the supervision of the United Nations.
The Nepali government and the guerrilla have submitted a five-point joint letter to the United Nations requesting the world body to assist in the ongoing peace process in the country.
The joint letter was submitted to the head of the UN High Commission for Refugees in Nepal, Abraham Abraham, at the Peace Secretariat in Kathmandu Wednesday afternoon. Enditem
