Special report: Major UK air terror plot thwarted

    PARIS, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- France on Friday tightened security in all airports, ports and rail stations after an foiled plot to blow up US-bound planes from Britain.

    All liquids, creams and gels will be temporarily banned from carry-on luggage on flights from France to Britain, the United States and Israel, the French authorities said.

    The terror alert level in French airports was left unchanged atred, the third highest on a four-colour scale.

    Only baby food and prescription medicines would be exempted.

    France on Thursday announced some security measures on all French flights to Britain, the United States and Israel. All hand luggage on these flights will be 100-percent searched, French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said. Enditem
