Typhoon Saomai and Tropical Storm Bopha are moving westwards towards eastern China...

Weathermen say the coastal areas of Fujian Province can expect major rainstorms over the next couple of days.

The local government has released typhoon alerts in coastal areas - urging people to get fully prepared for the approach of a violent typhoon.

Two hundred and sixty-six thousand people have been evacuated to safer places, and more than ten thousand ships, and thirty-five thousand fishermen have returned to harbor.

Meteorologists say Saomai could make landfall somewhere between northern Fujian Province and the central coastal part of Zhejiang this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

The Zhejiang provincial government has already relocated two hundred thousand people, and five thousand six hundred ships from areas that are likely to be hit.

Rescue teams and relief workers are getting ready for possible disasters, and a busy few days.

Meanwhile, tropical storm Bopha is also closing in on south China's Guangdong province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The two storms are influencing each other.

Local governments are preparing fully for all possible incidents that the forthcoming storm may cause, and the the Guangxi government has closed many dam water gates to try and prevent excessive flooding.
