    BEIJING, Aug. 9 -- Zhang Xinyang, a 10-year-old university student, evokes much controversy on talent education with the publication of "The Magic Study," a book recording his growth.

    According to Beijing Evening News, enrolled at university when he was under ten, Zhang has become the youngest university student of China. Now the child has finished the first year of academic study at Tianjin University of Technology and Education.

    The paper quotes Xiao Chuan, who is from Beijng Normal University, as affirming the success of young Zhang Xinyang. He thinks Zhang's parents have fully excavated the child's potential. This is regarded as the success of their way of family education.

    However, Zeng Zhihong, an educational researcher expresses her worry, citing a seemingly growing interest in talent education. She says intelligent development should be in line with living and social abilities. The process of growing is also the one of self-reliance and independence.
