    BANGKOK, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- The younger sister of a provincial senator was shot injured by unidentified gunmen in Thai southernmost province of Narathiwat early Tuesday morning, a military official told Xinhua.

    The sister of Aliben Ubalashin, an influential and famous provincial senator of Narathiwat, was attacked by two gunmen on a motorcycle at about 7:00 a.m. local time (0000 GMT) on Tuesday at a market in Su-ngai Padi district.

    She was injured at her right arm and local police has sent her to a nearby hospital.  Enditem
