Strong earthquake jolts sea waters near Vanuatu

    HONG KONG, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- A strong earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale hit the sea near Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean at 6:29 a.m. Hong Kong time on Tuesday (22:29 GMT, Monday), according to the Hong Kong Observatory.

    The epicenter was determined to be located at 15.8 south latitude and 167.8 east longitude, about 180 kilometers north-northwest of Vila Port. Enditem
