¡¡HARARE, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- At least 33 people died Monday morning when a Garikai motor service bus burst a tyre, veered off the road and overturned at the 149-kilometer peg along the Harare-Chirundu road, local police said.

    Mashonaland West Province police assistant commissioner Joram Mlilo confirmed the accident and said preliminary investigations show that the bus was speeding.

    He said police expect the number of deaths to rise as more bodies are being pulled from the wreckage.

    Mlilo said the injured some of whom are in a critical condition have been taken to Karoi and Chinhoyi hospitals. Enditem
