"Unidentified armed men attacked a checkpoint manned by Iraqi army soldiers outside Baquba early in the morning, leaving six soldiers killed and 15 others wounded," said the source from the Joint Coordination Center of Diyala, where Baquba located.

He said the Iraqi soldiers seized a large quantity of weapons after they fiercely fought the attackers, who sustained casualties, before they fled the scene.
