BEIJING, Aug. 7 -- With two years to go until the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, preparations in the Chinese capital are well underway and on track.

The President of the Beijing Organizing Committee, Liu Qi, says preparation work, including venue construction, marketing and organizing, are all going smoothly.

"in order to solve possible traffic problems during the games, Beijing will improve its infrastructure and create special passages for games-related businesses," He added.

Liu also emphasized that Beijing will make a series of moves to safeguard the environment. He pointed out that the focus in next two years will be education and administration. Liu added that seventy million tickets should have been sold by the first half of 2007.
