Sepcial Report: Tension accelerates in Iraq
BAGHDAD, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- A suicide bomber blew himself up among mourners at a funeral Sunday night in Tikrit, 170 km north of Baghdad, killing at least 15 and injuring 11, a police source said.
The attack took place at about 8:15 p.m.(GMT1615) at the funeral of the father of a member of the provincial council, the source said.
The council member, Saab Abd Bedeiwi, was also killed in the bombing, the source added.
The casualty toll is expected to rise because body parts were scattered around the tent where the mourners were gathered. Enditem
