KABUL, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Heavy rains and floods have killed four persons in Afghanistan's southern Ghazni province, provincial police Chief Tafsir Khan Khogyani said Saturday.

    "Four persons were killed Friday night as downpour and floods washed away a large number of agricultural lands and damaged local properties in the districts of Khawaja Amro, Gero and Andar," Khogyani told Xinhua.

    The number of casualties could be higher as inspection and survey has not been completed, he added.

    Similar downpour left 15 dead in Ghazni and the neighboring Khost and Paktika provinces early in the week. Enditem
