BAGHDAD, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Two U.S. soldiers were killed in Iraq's volatile western province of Anbar on Friday, the U.S. military said on Saturday.
The two soldiers, assigned to the 1st Battalion of the 1st Armored Division, were killed duo to "enemy action" while on patrol in the province, the military said in a statement.
Earlier, the U.S. military said in another statement that a U.S. Marine was killed in non-combat action in the same province on Saturday.
The names of the soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statements said.
More than 2,580 U.S. military personnel have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003. Enditem
