Special report: Tension accelerates in Iraq
BAGHDAD, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- A roadside bomb went off near a police commando
patrol in a southern Baghdad district on Thursday, wounding four commando
members, an Interior Ministry source said.
The bomb detonated shortly before 4:00 p.m. (1200 GMT) in the Eilam
neighborhood when a police commando patrol was passing by, the source told
Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
A police vehicle was damaged and four commando members aboard were wounded
in the blast, the source said.
Earlier in the day, up to 10 people were killed and some 32 others wounded
when a roadside bomb went off in the busy commercial area of Shorjah in the
