MEXICO CITY, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The presidential candidate for the right-wing National Action Party (PAN) on Sunday called on the country's Election Tribunal to ratify him as president-elect.

"I have come here because I want to tell you all, with a completely clear conscience, that I won the election for Presidentof the Republic cleanly," Felipe Calderon told a press conference, repeating a statement he had delivered to the Tribunal.

The Federal Electoral Agency (IFE) gave Calderon a 0.58 point lead over his left-wing rival, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, in the July 2 presidential election. However, Obrador challenged the result with the Tribunal, alleging massive fraud by the PAN party.

"The Tribunal's seven judges have an easy decision to make," Calderon told media. "They just have to declare president the person who Mexicans have already chosen ... They only have to respect what has already been done."

Calderon visited the Tribunal building for a private interview with the judges on Sunday, telling them that he was expecting a judgment that "is in line with justice, democracy and what is right," according to a statement he issued later. Enditem
