Bush, Blair to try reviving stalled Doha trade talks

    BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhuanet)-- U.S. President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair expressed hope that they would revive stalled Doha trade talks sometime in the next few weeks, Blair said on Sunday.

    GENEVA, July 27 (Xinhua) -- World Trade Organization (WTO) nations formally endorsed on Thursday the suspension of the Doha Round trade negotiations, trade officials said. 

Lamy urges WTO members to resume talks 

    PARIS, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The director-general of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Pascal Lamy, urged Tuesday all the members to resume negotiations with changed tactic and stand in order to save the dying Doha round negotiations.

WTO Doha talks suspended

    GENEVA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- World Trade Organization (WTO) chief Pascal Lamy formally recommended on Monday the suspension of the Doha Round of global free trade talks, after a meeting of six key trading powers collapsed due to differences over farming and manufactured goods.

Doha still "priority" for EU trade policy: Mandelson

    BRUSSELS, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The European Union (EU) will not give up on the World Trade Organization's (WTO) Doha Round trade talks which were suspended this week, EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson said here on Tuesday.

    GENEVA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- The European Union's Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson on Monday blamed the United States for the collapse of the world trade talks, accusing Washington of refusing to show sufficient flexibility over farm trade.

Paris regrets "excessive focus" on agriculture in WTO talks

    PARIS, July 25 (Xinhua) -- France on Tuesday voiced its regret about the "excessive focus" on agricultural issues that led to the suspension of the trade talks of the World Trade Organization (WTO), hoping they could resume on a sounder basis.
