BERLIN, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Berlin's Olympia stadion, the venue for the final of last month's World Cup, is in contention to host the 2008 or 2009 Champions League finals.

    Also on the shortlist for both finals are the newly rebuilt Wembley Stadium in London, Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow and the Estadio Olimpico in Seville.

    UEFA will take the final decision in early October when its Executive Committee meets in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

    The 2007 Champions League final will take place in Athens with the UEFA Cup final at Hampden Park, Glasgow. Enditem
