PARIS, July 11 (Xinhua) -- The French Football
Federation (FFF) will hold a meeting later Tuesday to decide whether Raymond
Domenech should stay on as coach of the national team following the country's
World Cup final defeat.
France lost to Italy in the penalty shoot-out in the
World Cup final on Sunday and some fans have called for the unpopular Domenech
to be sacked.
But FFF officials will debate his future in a meeting
without the coach on Tuesday.
"Tomorrow, the question of the extension of Raymond
Domenech's contract will be discussed, that has been the plan for a long time,"
said an official.
Domenech's current contract is due to run out on July
31 but he is not planning on hanging around to hear the verdict.
"I have first decided to go on holiday. The federal
council will meet Tuesday and the president will tell you what he has decided,"
said Domenech just after the final defeat.
"For now I am overcome by disappointment and my
opinion (on my future) has no consequence whatsoever."
