BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Yang Hyong Sop, vice
president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic
People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), arrived in Beijing Tuesday morning for a
five-day visit.
During his stay in Beijing, Sop will meet with
Chinese President Hu Jintao and top legislator Wu Bangguo.
Sop's visit comes when China and DPRK are holding
commemorations to mark the anniversary of a friendship treaty. Sop will attend
the commemorations in Beijing.
Tuesday coincides with the 45th anniversary of the
signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between

PYONGYANG, July 10 (Xinhua) -- China and the Democratic
People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday signed here an agreement on economic
and technology cooperation between the two governments.
The agreement was signed between the Ministry of
Commerce of China and the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the DPRK.
Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu, who arrived in
Pyongyang on Monday for a five-day official visit to the DPRK, and the DPRK's
Vice Premier Guak Bom-gi attended the signing ceremony.
Hui was accompanied by Wu Dawei, Chinese vice foreign
minister and China's chief negotiator to the six-party talks on the nuclear
issues on the Korean Peninsula. Enditem

BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Leaders of China and the
Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday exchanged congratulatory
messages on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of
Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between China and the DPRK.
Chinese President and General Secretary of the
Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Hu Jintao, top legislator Wu
Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao, respectively exchanged congratulations with
DPRK's top leader and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Worker's
Party of Korea, Kim Jong Il, DPRK's top legislator Kim Yong Nam and Premier Pak
Bong Ju, speaking highly of the development of the bilateral relations.
Leaders of the two sides agreed that to consolidate
and develop the China-DPRK friendship has been the firm stand of the two
governments and two parties.
The two countries will further increase exchanges,
strengthen cooperation and push forward the bilateral friendly cooperative ties,
