ZHENGZHOU, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Three people were confirmed dead and three others injured when a seven-storey residential building collapsed early Friday morning in Zhengzhou city, capital of central China's Henan Province, rescuers said.
The rescuers said that they had no idea how many people are stilled buried in the debris.
The leased building collapsed at around 1:30 a.m. Friday after wall cracked, which led some people to move out of the building in a hurry before the collapse.
Two excavators were working on the site at press time while trucks are busy transporting bricks and tiles away.
Rescue operation is in full swing time and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
The Zhengzhou government on Friday morning ordered a month-long check-up on all the buildings built without official approval. Enditem
