LUANDA, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and Cabinda separatist Enclave Liberation Front (FLEC) have agreed to cease all offensive movements in the country's northwestern province of Cabinda.
According to reports reaching here on Monday, delegations of Angolan government and FLEC signed the peace accord during a four-hour meeting held on Saturday.
The two sides also decided the stationing of FLEC units in scheduled zones and areas.
According to a press communique, the duo have agreed that FAA would secure all logistic support to FLEC units.
FAA deputy chief Geraldo Nunda said he was satisfied about the solution, adding that it was an important step that had been set, mainly in the beginning of the cease of hostilities.
In his turn, Gen. Antonio Bento Bembe with FLEC, also expressed satisfaction at the event, as it "was the first step in the journey to Cabinda's pacification." Enditem
