WARSAW, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Israeli teachers, leaders of groups visiting Poland and employees of the Yad Vashem Memorial (Israeli Memorial) took part in a seminar on the role and meaning of remembering about former German Nazi death camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau that started at a museum on Monday.

    "Twenty-five Israelis will attend lectures delivered by museum historians and academics that are designed to make them more familiar with the camp history, the Holocaust and the Polish-Jewish relations over centuries. One of the session of the 12-day seminar is devoted to the conflicting memories of Poles and Jews, the sociology of Polish anti-Semitism and Judeo-Christian inter- religious dialogue," project coordinator of the center Jacek Lech said.

    The Israeli guests are also to get familiar with Polish history and culture, visit the Royal Castle in Cracow, Warsaw Rising Museum. They will also attend the Festival of the Jewish Culture in Cracow.

    Between 1940 and 1945 German Nazis murdered at least 1.1 million people in Auschwitz-Birkenau mostly Jews, Poles and Romas. Enditem
