ANKARA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari arrived here on Sunday for a three-day official visit, during which he will hold talks with senior Turkish officials and open Iraqi consulate in Istanbul.
Zebari will meet with Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul on Monday.
The latest developments in Iraq and Turkish-Iraqi relations will be high on the agenda of the talks, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said, adding that Zebari's visit was a proof of a new momentum reached in bilateral relations.
Turkey has been asking Iraq and the United States to take concrete steps to crack down on Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK)rebels based in northern Iraq.
Meanwhile, Zebari will attend the opening ceremony of Iraqi consulate in Istanbul.
Iraq has decided to re-open its consulate general in Istanbul, while Turkey will re-open its consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. Enditem
