    Sepcial Report: Tension accelerates in Iraq

    BAGHDAD, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Gunmen kidnapped a female undersecretary of Iraqi Health Ministry and five of her bodyguards in southern Baghdad on Sunday, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.

    "Unknown gunmen ambushed the convoy of undersecretary of Health Ministry Dr. Liqaa in Doura district and kidnapped her along with five bodyguards," the source said on condition of anonymity. It was the second abduction of Iraqi officials in Baghdad on Sunday.

    Earlier in the morning, unknown gunmen in seven sport utility vehicles stormed Iraqi Ministry of Mineral and Industry and kidnapped the ministry's undersecretary, an Interior Ministry source said without giving further details. Enditem
