Sepcial Report: Tension accelerates in Iraq
BAGHDAD, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Two car bombs went off in central Baghdad on Sunday, killing a civilian and wounding 16 others, an Iraqi Interior Ministry source said.
The two blasts occurred almost simultaneously at about 11:00 a.m. (0700 GMT), one in Arasat al-Hendiyah street in southern Baghdad and the other near a popular shoe store in Baghdad's northern neighborhood of Hurriyah, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
A civilian was killed and three wounded, including a police commander, in Arasat al-Hendiyah street, while 13 people was wounded in the Hurriyah neighborhood, the source said.
Earlier, ten people were wounded in car bomb blast which missed a police patrol in central Baghdad's Karradah district. Enditem
