BANJUL,June 30 (Xinhua) -- The China-Africa relations have withstood the
test of time, said Senegal's Foreign Minister Cheikh Tidiane Gadio.
In an interview with Xinhua here on Thursday night, Gadio said that despite
volatile changes in the international situation, the traditional friendly
relations and cooperation between Africa and China, built on solid political
basis, are bound to develop in the direction of mutual benefit.
Commenting on the China-Africa Summit due to be held in Beijing in
November, Gadio said that the African countries are deeply concerned with the
significant event, sincerely wishing the historic meeting a success.
Gadio, who was here attending an African ministerial meeting at the 7th
African Union (AU) summit, said the African countries speak highly of the
bilateral friendly relations and cooperation between China and Africa.
During the November Summit in Beijing, a number of important decisions will
be announced, and China will expand its aid to infrastructure building in
Africa, Gadio said.
He said it is the hope and conviction of African countries that the
decisions will be implemented adequately. Enditem
