HAMBURG, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Italy head coach Marcello Lippi said here on
Friday that his team will do better in the semifinals next Tuesday when they
take on hosts Germany.
"This is a very satisfying win but we don't want to stop here, we haven't
reached our objective yet. I said before the match if we beat Ukraine then
anything is possible," Lippi said.
He added: "We'll think about Germany when we've seen the other matches.
It's going to be very tough but we'll give it everything we've got."
Ukraine coach Oleg Blokhin was disappointed with the results.
"I'm very disappointed, I don't think the scoreline is a fair reflection of
the match.
"Italy's opening goal meant we were forced to attack and, even though we
came up against a very good defence, we still managed to create several chances
to equalise when we were losing 1-0.
"I substituted Vyacheslav Sviderskyi because he'd already been booked and
looked as though he might pick up a second yellow card. We had to make our
second change at the end of the first half and this put us under great pressure
for the rest of the match." Enditem
