BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Il, leader of the Democratic People's Republic
of Korea (DPRK) and general secretary of the Central Committee of the
Worker's Party of Korea, sent a congratulatory message on Friday to Hu Jintao,
China's president and general secretary of the Central Committee of the
Communist Party of China (CPC), to mark the 85th anniversary of the CPC's
founding.
Praising the founding of the CPC on July 1, 1921 as an epoch-making event,
Kim said the CPC had led China on a sacred road toward class liberation and
prosperity.
Under the leadership of the CPC, China has enjoyed great achievements in
building socialism with Chinese characteristics and in the great cause of
reunification, and has seen its international status and role enormously
elevated, Kim said.
Kim said he hoped the CPC would make further achievements in construction
of the party and society as well as China's great cause of reunification.
He also spoke highly of the traditional friendship between the DPRK and China,
saying the Worker's Party of Korea is persistently committed to
reinforcing and developing the friendship. Enditem
