CANBERRA, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Thick fog blanketing Australia's largest city
of Sydney has caused all flights to be grounded at Sydney Airport on Friday
morning, according to an airport spokesman.
Although the airport is not closed, no flights are landing or departing
from the airport.
International and domestic flights would be assessed on a case by case
basis until visibility improved, Australian Associated Press quoted the
spokesman as saying.
Five international flights, mostly from the United States, have been
diverted to Brisbane, capital of Queensland state.
The spokesman said passengers should contact their airlines to confirm
departure times. Enditem
