KIEV, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko's "Our Ukraine" party said on Wednesday that it has reached agreement with its former Orange allies to form a coalition government.

"Yesterday the three political forces finished work on coalition agreement. Today we are preparing it for signing," Roman Bezsmertnyi, the lead negotiator for the party, told parliament.

Yushchenko's Our Ukraine, together with former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko's bloc and the socialists, led the 2004 "orange revolution," which brought Yushchenko to power after a protracted presidential election.

No party in the ex-Soviet republic won a majority in the March parliamentary elections. The three "orange revolution" parties, with combined seats of 243 in the 450-seat Upper Rada parliament, immediately started talks on forming a coalition.

Tymoshenko, who was fired in September by Yushchenko, said the coalition "won democracy for Ukraine."

It would define the country's course for many years ahead and would "move Ukraine into the European community," she said. Enditem
