BRAZZAVILLE, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier
Wen Jiabao held talks respectively with Republic of the Congo President Denis
Sassou-Nguesso and Prime Minister Isidore Mvouba on Monday afternoon, exchanging
views with them on enforcing China-Congo strategic partnership relation in an
honest and friendly atmosphere.
When talking with President Sassou-Nguesso, Wen said
the Sino-Congolese relationship has a consolidated foundation, which rooted from
a 42-year long mutual support between the two sides in maintaining nation
sovereignty and developing national economy vigorously.
Wen agreed with Sassou-Nguesso on his suggestion to
establish strategic partnership with China, adding that the Chinese government
would like to enhance cooperation in every field with the Republic of the Congo
in the future.
Huge potentials for China-Congo co-op:

BRAZZAVILLE, June 19 (Xinhua) -- China and the
Republic of the Congo will work together to tap the huge potentials for
cooperation in various areas between the two countries, according to a joint
communique issued Monday during Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's official visit to
the west African country.
The two sides agreed that there are huge potentials
for bilateral cooperation and pledged to work together to enhance cooperation in
areas of agriculture, energy, telecommunications, transport and human resources
development. The two governments will provide convenient environment to boost
bilateral trade and investment.
They also pledged in the communique to support each
other on matters concerning sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Republic
of the Congo reiterated its adherence to the one-China policy, in recognition
that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory.
Premier Wen starts Congo trip for
enhancing economic ties
BRAZZAVILLE, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen
Jiabao said here Monday that his current visit to the Republic of the Congo is
aimed to further enhance mutual understanding, expand trade and economic
cooperation and push the friendly cooperative relations between China and the
Republic of the Congo to a new stage.
Wen made the remark in a written speech that he
released upon arriving at the airport of Brazzaville, kicking off an official
visit to this west African country. Brazzaville is the third leg of Wen's
seven-nation African trip, which has already taken him to Egypt and Ghana.
Premier Wen will visit Angola, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
Wen was greeted with a grand welcoming ceremony held
by President Denis Sassou-Nguesso and Prime Minister Isidore Mvouba at the
airport.
