China, Egypt sign outline for deepening strategic ties

    It said that it is important for the two countries to use their own economic advantages to explore new ways and areas of bilateral economic and trade cooperation based on equality and mutual benefit in order to promote such cooperation in an all-round manner.

    The two sides agreed to take all measures necessary to provide facility for bilateral trade in terms of goods and service in order to achieve a balanced trade relationship, it said.

    The two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation in quarantine to make it easier for Egypt to export citrus to China, it said.

    It said that the two countries agreed to promote exchanges between organizations responsible for promoting bilateral trade in order to push forward cooperation in investment in bonded zones, qualified industrial zones and a special economic zone in the Suez Gulf area.

    It said that the Chinese side encourages Chinese enterprises to invest more in chemical industry, textile, electronics, information and light industry in Egypt, adding that the Egyptian side promises to provide facility and preferential treatment to Chinese enterprises within the law framework.

    The two sides will strengthen cooperation in contracted projects and project fund-raising, it said, adding that China will push forward technology transfer and offer its experience to Egypt, in addition to cooperation in human resources in terms of the economy, trade, technology and health.

    It said that the two sides will strengthen economic and trade cooperation within the frameworks of the Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum and the Sino-African Cooperation Forum and coordinate stances of the two countries in international economic and trade organizations and on international economic and trade issues in order to safeguard interests of developing countries in economic globalization and trade liberalization.

    It said that the two sides decided to strengthen cooperation in culture, press, health, sports and tourism and promote dialogue among different civilizations and push forward the establishment of a harmonious world.

    The two sides agreed to promote scientific and technological cooperation based on mutual respect, taking their own advantages, benefit-sharing and common development, it said.

    The two sides agreed to strengthen consultation and coordination between senior education officials of the two countries, it said, adding that it is imperative to promote educational exchanges and expand the scope of overseas students of the two countries and upgrade the level of overseas students.

    The two sides are willing to cooperate in training of public servants, it said, adding that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in combating smuggling, drug trafficking and cross-border organized crimes and exchange information in this respect in order to maintain regional and international tranquility.

    The two sides also encourage people-to-people exchanges to promote mutual understanding, the outline said. Enditem
