BUENOS AIRES, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian soccer player Ronaldo de Assis, known
as Ronaldinho, denied he was the superstar of the Brazil squad in a column
published in Argentine daily "El Clarin" saying that he was just one more member
of the team.
"I am just one more team member with the same responsabilities: because we
all have one thing in common -- we want to win the World Cup," Ronaldinho said.
But he added that Argentina's Lionel Messi, his colleague in Spanish league club
Barcelona, will have a worldwide impact when he plays.
"I know that Messi has not yet played and right now he is feeling tension
and anxiety. But I would tell him to calm down, to be patient. Everything has
its time and when Leo plays it will have a world-wide impact. Messi is very
important for Argentina and football in general," he said.
Ronaldinho added that the Brazil team was really a family, that even though
it was a platitude it was really true that they enjoyed themselves and spoke the
same language in all the senses of the phrase.
"I have been asked many times if I feel more pressure in this World Cup
because I have been given the best player award, and I have to say sincerely
that I don't," he added. Enditem
