HONG KONG, June 13 (Xinhua) -- The Hong Kong
government Tuesday approved 7.9 million HK dollars to undertake relief projects
for earthquake victims in Yogyakarta and Central Java, Indonesia.
The grants from the Disaster Relief Fund, which was
established in December 1993 for emergency disaster relief in places outside
Hong Kong, are given to three relief agencies, namely Oxfam Hong Kong, Salvation
Army and the World Vision Hong Kong, to conduct relief works in Indonesia.
In addition, at the request of the Indonesian
government, the Hong Kong government procured and arranged air-freight of 20
tonnes of relief supplies, including tents and blankets, to help the needy in
