HANGZHOU, East China, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Wu Baozhong is no supporter of German soccer. As a matter of fact, he doesn't like the world's most popular game at all.

    But he plans to watch every World Cup game on TV and hopes host Germany will win the coveted trophy on July 9.

    Wu, general manager of the Chinese clothing manufacturer Sedunoin the booming eastern Chinese province Zhejiang, said he supported the German team only because German fans were wearing his clothes.

    Contracted with the world sportswear giant Adidas, a major sponsor of the German team, Seduno has produced and shipped out 750,000 German national team jerseys and is working on an extra order of 100,000.

    Adidas also contracted with Seduno on Real Madrid, AC Milan and Chelsea clothes. The total Adidas orders are about 2 million items, said Wu.

    Another clothing producer SSMZ, also in Zhejiang province, has made 2.25 million flags for 11 World Cup teams, while a small Zhejiang textile factory has produced 1.5 million carpets for soccer's premier event.

    Wenzhou, in southeast of Zhejiang, is the center of cigarette lighters. Its industry accounts for 70 percent of the global market in metal-cased lighters and 95 percent at home. The World Cup organizers have selected a Wenzhou lighter manufacturer as an official World Cup souvenir maker. Enditem
