BUENOS AIRES, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Argentina and Mexico agreed on Friday to extend an existing trade deal on tariff cuts for the next 10 years, according to a statement from the Argentine Foreign Ministry.

The deal, the Agreement on Complementary Trade, will give zero-tariff treatment to over 1,500 products in bilateral trade such as chemicals, plastic, iron, steel, rubber, computers, electrical equipment, mechanical tools, communication goods, graphic design hardware and some agricultural products.

The agreement will boost trade relations between the two countries, said the statement, also noting that Argentina hopes for increased trade through free trade agreements with other member states of the Common Market of the South, namely, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay. Enditem
