FRANKFURT, Germany, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Paraguay coach Anibal Ruiz claimed on Thursday that his team have the confidence to beat England in Saturday's World Cup group B opener.

"We have very good defenders because one of the main characteristics of Paraguayan football is our good aerial play," said Ruiz.

Ruiz admitted that the dead-ball expertise of David Beckham andthe aerial threat of Peter Crouch could cause them serious problems.

"We know what mighty opponents England are. They have very goodplayers, but we do as well and we have the ability to neutralize them, but We have confidence in our team and I have confidence that they'll have a great match." added Ruiz.

Paraguay will also face Sweden and Trinidad and Tobago in theirgroup stage. Despite their limited resources, Paraguay have reached the last 16 at the two World Cups and won the silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Enditem
