MUNICH, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Franz Beckenbauer, President of the FIFA World Cup Organising Committee, said here on Thursday that he will watch 48 out of 64 games during the one-month tournament.

    "I'd like to watch all of them ideally, but with the best will in the world, that won't be possible. I'm planning to see 48 games;two or three a day," said the former super star, who led Germany to champions in 1974 as a player and 1990 as the manager.

    He said that he will travel by a helicopter provided by Emirates during the tournament.

    Beckenbauer said that the game he is most looking forward to is Friday's opener between Germany and Costa Rica. "Because then it will finally have started, and the Final because hopefully everything will have gone smoothly." Enditem
