Sepcial Report: Tension accelerates in Iraq
CANBERRA, June 9 (Xinhua) -- A 34-year-old Australian security guard was
killed in a roadside bombing in Iraq on Thursday, Australian Foreign Minister
Alexander Downer confirmed.
The Australian worked for a private security firm and was guarding a
vehicle convoy when the bomb went off about 300 km north of Baghdad. Three
others were also killed in the incident
"The convoy was hit by what they called an improvised explosive device which
was hidden in a culvert," Downer spoke to the Nine Network TV on Friday .
The man was the sixth Australian killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led
coalition forces invaded Iraq in March 2003. Enditem
