PARIS, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova rallied from a set and a break down to defeat Nicole Vaidisova 5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 and advance to her first French Open final on Thursday.
The 2004 US Open champion awaits either defending champion Justine
Henin-Hardenne or fellow Belgian Kim Clijsters. The pair meet in the other
semi-final later on Thursday.
Vaidisova, who had eliminated world number one Amelie Mauresmo and
five-time Grand Slam winner Venus Williams on her way to the last four,
dominated the semifinal for almost two sets and served for the match at 5-4 in
the second before losing badly. Enditem
