BERLIN, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Germany captain Michael Ballack won't appear on
the inaugural match, said team manager Jurgen Klinsmann on Thursday.
"It seems that Michael Ballack cannot play against Costa Rica," Klinsmann
said at a press conference in the morning before going to Munich.
Ballack was forced to pull out of Wednesday's training with hiscalf injury
still troubling him.
"He only trained for 30 minutes on Wednesday and then had to pull out,"
said Klinsman.
Werder Bremen midfielder Tim Borowski and Borussia Dortmund's Sebastian
Kehl are thought to occupy Ballack's position against Costa Rica. Enditem
